National Passport Information Center (NPIC)

Updated: Jun 14, 2022

The National Passport Information Center (NPIC) is the U.S. Department of State's primary resource for passport information. NPIC provides Country Information to assist customers in determining whether or not they need a passport to travel to their destination. NPIC also provides information on obtaining, renewing, and replacing passports. Customers calling NPIC with questions about passports will reach a trained customer service representative who can answer most questions. If the representative is unable to answer the question, they will direct the customer to another resource or provide them with the appropriate contact information. NPIC's website also provides a wealth of passport information, including country-specific requirements, application forms, and customer service contact information. The NPIC is the go-to source for all passport-related questions and provides valuable resources for both first-time and experienced travelers alike.
